Megamind

Megamind is a mediocre animated comedy by Dreamworks Animation in an attempt to beat Pixar. It is a film about two intergalactic space aliens who arrived on Earth. Megamind became the villain at first and Metroman became the hero at first. The two would fight over and over again. The beginning of the film is like a repeat of all superhero movies. The film is hilarious, but it is also boring at some places.

The film may have a twist at the end with the villain as the hero, but the film can be cut to 75 minutes long. This film is not Dreamworks' best work. My favorite Dreamworks film is Shrek and Kung Fu Panda. They show originality in both humor and story. That is what Megamind lacks.

Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Roderick Rules

Diary of a Wimpy Kid : Roderick Rules is a film about two brothers. The film picks up where the first film ended. Even though the film does not have any more original humor, it is entertaining to see a high school student and a middle school student work together.

Roderick has always been a pain to Greg Heffley. When their overly protective mother comes up with the money solution, the two get along better because they can exchange Mombucks for real bucks. However, it was when Greg and Roderick hosted an illegal party while their parents were away that the two started to get along. They wanted to be allies to make sure the party remains a secret so they do not get in trouble.

The film brings a hilarious family comedy that everybody in the family can relate to. It is filled with young middle school romance, brotherly love, and weird classmates.

Deathly Hallows Part 2 is both Epic and Nostalgic

If you never enjoyed Harry Potter books or movies, then this film might change your mind. The film picks up after the ending of Part 1. The film picks up pretty fast. It has rapid fire spells flying all over the place. We see old faces and new faces. Some faces we do not want to see again. We are also surprised at some of the characters ability to duel Death Eaters.  Director Dave Yates brought back some familiar creatures, spells and scenes from the seven preceding films. Harry Potter and the DH Part 2 is a film with nostalgia, battles, and sorrow.

We see Harry and company plotting a massive plan to break into an unbreakable bank vault. Gringotts is the safest bank in the world of wizards because it has goblins. Then there is something even more frightening. It is an ancient mythical creature. Almost every civilization has made different versions of this creature. The Chinese call it Long. The Europeans called it dragons. That is the most I can give you without spoiling the movie. if you think breaking in and out of Gringotts is a lot of fun, then you will really like this film. Gringotts is just the icing on top of the cake. We see characters getting challenged with puzzles.

As the battle rages on, Harry discovers some starling secrets kept from him. Some of them involve Albus Dumbledore and Severus Snape. The information proved crucial for defeating Voldemort. Voldemort oversaw the crucial details that involve the elder wand. Information that cost him his life.

As I saw the emotions after everybody heard Harry had died, I was tearing up. It was an emotional moment because Tom Riddle has rubbed it in their faces. Neville stood out of the crowd in this film. He proved to be a beneficial leader when Harry is absent. The Wesley twins were permanently separated. We also see Remus and Tonks sacrifice their lives for the Wizard world.

From the beginning of the film, we saw the clock ticking to the final battle. The last adventure to grab the two horcruxes showed us scenes like the forbidden forest and the  quittich ground. The film also took an in-depth look at Gringotts Vault. The first time we saw the wizard bank was in Sorcerer's stone, where Hagrid took Harry to retrieve some gold. The first time Harry encountered Voldemort at Hogwarts grounds was in the Sorcerer's stone film. The penultimate battle took place there, but like the first film it did not end there.

We saw the quitich field get burned and torn up. We can still look back at the great games that were played there. Harry caught his first snitch in his first game. That snitch later held
Morvolo  Grunt's ring or the resurrection stone.

When Harry stepped into the Great Hall for the first time in Sorcerer's Stone, the hall was cheerful, happy, and friendly. Now the hall is filled with fear and ambivalence.

Hermonie and Ron traveled to the Chamber of Secrets. No basilisk this time.  They killed  the soul within the cup.
The film has some of the most spells travelling around. Hogwarts becomes this WWII type battleground and Voldemort is like Hitler. He kills whoever disobeys his order. The Death Eaters' spells charge towards the shield like NATO's missiles bombing Qaddafi's troops.

Secrets revealed and stories are told for the last time. Harry Potter will be remembered for decades to come. They might not be as excited as we are now, but future generations will enjoy the stories.

Remember to watch this movie in IMAX 3D because the entire movie is a war movie. All the camera angles look a lot more dramatic than in regular 3D. Remember to watch the film in the morning for it is cheaper in the morning. There is no need to pay for more , but get the same result.

Chronicles of Narnia The Voyage of the Dawn Treader

C.S. Lewis is created a masterpiece that will be remembered forever. The Chronicles of Narnia is a series that has the magic of reading. It teaches children self-discovery through adventures in books. Though the Chronicles of Narnia: Voyage of the Dawn Treader 2011 film , assumes that everybody who watch the movie have also read the book. Therefore, they skimmed out on some crucial information that is important to the audience watching the film.
For example, the ending was a bit confusing. You can interpret the place as the edge of the world and on the other side is Aslan's country. Aslan's country can be interpreted as heaven, where Aslan is god. The whole movie is not as straight-forward as one would think.
