Ponyo

Today, August 29, 2009, I went to see the famous Ponyo. Ponyo is a little fish born in the sea. Her father is a human , but hates humans. He married the Sea goddess and obtained magical powers. He lives in the sea with his children. I watched this movie in AMC 24 Hamilton because it was the only known theatre in the area to show ponyo. Ponyo is a great movie with excellent reviews, but it doesn't have enough viewers. AMC showed Ponyo in High Definition and surround sound stereos. There was crashing waves of the Tsunami and I could hear the sea rumbling. The visual effects created by Hayo Mizaki were excellent. His drawings are a genius. He created his own style of drawing animation. (Hayo Miazaki draws almost all his animated movies by hand.)

Ponyo is a fish and daughter of the Sea goddesses and the magician. Ponyo has hundreds of Siblings. Her father has magical potions that could make her human. Sosuke found her in a jar. He opened the jar and got a cut. Ponyo licked it and it became better. Since Ponyo tasted blood, it can make her human. She has magical abilities inherited from her mother. Her mother rules the sea.

This is the Japanese version of Walt Disney's Little Mermaid. Ponyo's the fish and Sosuske saved her. Sosuske cared for Ponyo and fed her ham. When Ponyo was taken back to the sea, she said that she loved Sosuke and wanted to eat ham. Then she started to grow human legs and arms.

Her father went to the sea to find Ponyo's mother for help and advise. While he was gone. Ponyo secretly escaped and flooded her father's labratory. Fish started to get in and her father's secret vault was opened. Now Ponyo and her siblings has the magic potion of her mother. Ponyo grew real hands and feet. Her siblings turned to giant fish. Together, their magic flooded the entire city.

The downpour of rain flooded all the roads in 6ft of water. It covered the entire city except a resort at the top of the mountain.

Ponyo disobeyed his father and went to Sosuske with her siblings. Her siblings turned to giant fish and she was a human walking on the fish. The fishes caused a tsunami and overturned ships. In the end , there were a a whole pile of large cargo ships.

At the very end of the storm, Ponyo's mother saved the ships and the lives of the people. ( The name ponyo was given to the little goldfish by Sosuke. She had a different name at birth , but her mother and father liked the name Ponyo better.)
Ponyo slept with Sosuske during the storm.
Then she woke up and was calling Sosuke. Then their heads bumped.

It is a classic childhood love.

Stuck on the Tarmac or at the Terminal

It was July 2006, I've arrived at Beijing. I was going to the airport to return to JFK. I've arrived at the airport at Noon. Then the airplane got delayed for three hours. I got a bite to eat and checked into the Gate. I took my carry on to the plane. I sat down and the plane started moving on the tarmac.
Two hours later, I am on the plane. The plane is stuck on the tarmac.Babies are crying like a coyote and the airplane was as dry as the desert. Iwould stop drinking water. That plane was a nightmare.
The pilot came on the PA and announced that the passengers will be getting off the plane and relocated to another gate. (It was rumored that the wings of the plane were in need of maintenance or repair.)
Air China had prepared a meal, but they spoke in English and then Chinese. It was difficult to hear them and the result was that some people didn't eat.
Air China, the state owned airlines industry, made a second mistake. They were giving out refunds for the tickets. They spoke in Chinese. The Americans didn't understand. The result was that they didn't get their refunds. Now we are changing gates to board the plane.

Thirty minutes later, I am on the plane. The plane is at the gate. The plane didn't move an inch. The pilot said that the radar was broken and needed to be fixed. (Everybody got off the plane and into the gate.)The plane was fixed five hours later. The plane was boarding passengers at 1:00 AM. From Noon to Midnight is 12 hours. I have waited in the plane and airport for 12 hours.

Lesson # 1 : Never ride Air China because its planes are always delayed. I had a three hour delay going to china from JFK.

Niagara Falls

Niagara Falls was formed 1000 years ago from the melting polar ice caps. The water was rushing so fast that it found weaker rock formations like shale and limestone. The water carved the Niagara Falls. The water from Niagara Falls supply 20% of the World's water. Niagara Falls produces 4 million kilowatts of electricity. This electricity is shared by the United States and Canada. The US Congress named Niagara Falls State Park a national heritage site. Niagara Falls is the oldest National Park. It was established as a National Park in 1885.

The water crashing down from Niagara Falls creates a sound comparable to thunder. Niagara Falls connects two Great Lakes. It connects Lake Ontario and Lake Erie. The water from Niagara Falls came from the melted polar ice caps from the last ice age.

Did you know that four of the five Great Lakes drain into Niagara Falls before emptying into Lake Ontario. These five great lakes makes up one fifth of the world's fresh water.

Twelve Thousands year ago extended 7 miles down the river. Niagara Falls erodes the soft shale formation at 6 feet a year , but the recent hydroelectricity project reduces the erosion to only 10 centimeters a year.

Visitors must see Niagara Falls from the Canadian side because it has more activities. You can only go behind the falls on the Canadian side. Journey behind the falls goes behind the falls with extended tunnels. You can experience the mist and the thundering sound. From behind the falls, you can see the water bouncing back. There's so much energy that the water falls and bounces back up again.

It is exhilarating standing behind the falls, you can hear the sound and feel the water. This is an experience of a lifetime and cannot be experienced from the United States.

Roaring waters

The sound of the mighty Niagara Falls is scary. Niagara falls has a thundering boom with roaring waters. Niagara Falls has the best view from Ontario, Canada. On the Canadian side, you can view the American falls and the Canadian horseshoe fall. On the Canadian side, one photo can capture the American Falls and the Canadian Horseshoe fall. You get the whole picture of Niagara Falls. There are food vendors on the streets of Niagara falls. One hot dog vendor said, " We are running low on hot dogs.We don't have any more sausages."
I was thinking , " what's a hot dag without a sausage? It's bread."
This situation only happens in Canada.
Niagara Falls has a natural beauty that attracts millions of visitors a year. Many international visitors from around the world would come to Canada and the United States to see Niagara falls. In pictures, Niagara is amazing. In memories, Niagara Falls is extraordinary.

The Tale of Desperaux

The Tale of Despereax is a tale of a rat and a mouse. The rat lived on the ship and travelled to different places. He enjoys the presence of humans. This is unnatural for a rat because rats hate sunlight and humans. Rats established their own underground city.

The tale really started on soup day. On Soup day, the chef would make a surprise soup for the whole city. Then the King would say the name of the soup to the whole kingdom. The Chef was fixing the soup with his good imaginary friend. They would make the actual soup better. His friend was made of food and had better taste then him. The problem occurred when Rocuro(the sea rat) escaped his human. He went to see the soup up close. When the royal family was drinking the soup, he fell into the Queen's soup. With fright of the dirty rat, she fainted. Later that day, the Queen died. The king was horrified and pronounced to the kingdom that making soup, drinking soup and smelling soup is illegal. The housing of rats and mice is illegal. Anyone found housing a rat or mice would have a severe punishment. This was devasting for the kingdom. For a very long time, the kingdom has no rain and the people are sad. The sadest person was princess pea. She missed the rain, the soup and the rats.
The tale goes on when Despereaux was born. He was a large eared mouse. He was tiny for his age. In his mind, he is the biggest of them all. He befriended the princess and swore to bring back the soup and the rain. He showed the mice population the light. The Chef started making soup, even though it was illegal. When people smelled his soup, they had a jolt of happiness. Roscuao , Despereaux and the Chef helped bring light to the kingdom. The soup brought happiness to the royal family, the people, the rats , and the mice. The people and animals lived happily ever after.

The Mouse named Despereaux was never born normal. Despereaux did not run away from danger. He was a gentlemen, he was brave, and he was fearless. His characteristics was not a mouse. His parents would fret over his fearlessness. He had the strength to talk to a human. He talked to the princess. This was an illegal act. Despereaux could expose the mice population to the humans. The council banished him to the rats. While he was in the rat city, he was almost fed to the big cat. The sea rat saved his life. ( The sea rat was the rat that lived on a ship his whole life until the crew left without him.) He dropped into the sewers and landed among the other rats. He never got used to their way of life. He was an outsider. Despereaux was an outsider as well because he did not fear. The sea rat liked humans and sunlight. Their outstanding qualities helped saved the princess and the city.

Should Different Countries limit the number of muslims going to Mecca?

A pandemic strike the world this year. It is the Swine flu. Hajj is the world's largest pilgrimage. Millions of Muslims gather in Mecca for a submission to God. Since Muslims all around the world are gathering in one city, the swine flu might spread faster in Mecca. Should countries limit the number of people going to hajj? I believe that different countries should limit the number of people going to Mecca because a disease moves from person to person faster when you are in a crowded area. I also believe that the number of Muslims going to Mecca should always be limited because many people die in Mecca every year during the pilgrimage. I think that the people with weak bodies and unhealthy conditions should not go. Senior Citizens should not go because they are getting old and their bodies are not meant for an intense walk from one place to another. Younger children should not go either because they are too young to understand and the walk is too long for them.

The Muslim community may not like it , but I believe different countries should take action for the safety of the Muslim people. Just for 8 days during Ramadan, Saudi Arabia could spend up to millions of dollars. They have to hire more and more police to patrol the tented area. Saudi Arabia has to provide the white bath robe for every Muslim. ( tradition of Hajj) Saudi Arabia is also responsible for hydrating the Muslim people because of the peninsula's hot climate. They have to provide sanitation to prevent the spread of disease. They have to provide sanitary food and water. The country has to provide alternative foods for people for food allergies.

If the Muslim people disagree with my thoughts. Just think about your safety. Religion is a faith and faiths are good for the soul, but they should not be taken too seriously.
